One of the aspects of our work that we enjoy the most is coming up with music video concepts - and we like to ensure that each of our videos are very unique. Music videos involve collaboration between artists and new friends, as well as cohesion between the visuals and the sound.
We had seen Ed Zuccollo perform with his electric Talk-Box at MEOW Bar (Edward St), supporting an exceptional Adam Page gig. Ed makes all his own beats and sounds, plus is a talented, charismatic + endearing performer and keys player. We loved his cover of KRAFTWERK's "The Robots" and approached him about making a video.
The wheels spun into motion even faster than we had anticipated, and less than a few weeks later we'd created a ROBOTS world, filmed it, and celebrated with a warming whiskey toast.
Here's to more good times, great beats + LOCO music videos.
Sophi built the costumes and set and had great help from Mark + Ed with painting them all.
Almost all of the materials used were up-cycled - left-over paint cans, old sheets of cardboard, and even unusable camera lenses were utilised as robot eyes! On the day, there were a few purchases - stockings, a robot (a treat for young Oscar to take home), elastic bands, food + coffees.
The wonderful Katie Mccarthy-Burke was on hand as support for both Oscar and for us! She ran out and made sure that we had everything we needed and was invaluable help + energy. So many thanks, Katie!
